Everything you need to know about how Pixus works — and why it's safe to use.
Common questions about Pixus
Yes. The entire design and video editing suite is free and works 100% in your browser. There are no accounts, no subscriptions, and no paid tiers required to use any feature.
Your projects are saved locally in your browser — full project documents and uploaded images in IndexedDB, with small preferences and a project index in localStorage. Nothing leaves your device, and no Pixus server ever receives your work. You can also export a project as a .pxs file to back it up or move it to another browser.
No. Pixus has no sign-up at all. Open the app, pick a template or canvas size, and start designing immediately.
Designs export as PNG at 1×, 2× or 3× high-DPI, JPG, WebP, a multi-page PDF, a responsive HTML bundle, or a .pxs project file. Video projects export as MP4 (H.264) or WebM with audio, or as a PNG frame or PNG sequence.
Yes. Pixus includes a full video editor with a timeline, transitions, text overlays, shapes, keyframes, filters, and audio mixing — all running client-side.
No. Everything runs locally on your device. Images you add are processed in your browser and are never sent to any server.
Once the editor is open, yes — rendering, storage and export all happen locally, so you can keep designing with no internet connection. Pixus is not installed as an offline app, so the page has to load once first; after that an open tab keeps working, and template images you have already viewed are cached for reuse.
Pixus targets the latest versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. It relies on modern browser APIs — Canvas, IndexedDB, Web Audio, MediaRecorder and the File API — so an up-to-date browser is recommended.
Pixus is designed and developed under the UTHAKKAN technology product brand founded by Ajmal U K. UTHAKKAN focuses on creating practical, scalable, and user-friendly digital products, AI tools, and browser applications.
