Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making Pixus usable by everyone.
Effective date: September 11, 2026 · Last updated: September 11, 2026
1. Our commitment
Pixus is committed to ensuring that our website and application are accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone should be able to use design tools, and we work to remove barriers that might prevent people from doing so.
2. Website accessibility
The Pixus marketing website (pixus.uthakkan.in) is designed to be accessible and follows web accessibility best practices:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy.
- ARIA labels and roles on interactive elements.
- Skip-to-content link for keyboard navigation.
- Sufficient colour contrast for text readability.
- Responsive design that works on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
- Keyboard-accessible navigation menus with focus management.
- Screen reader friendly content with descriptive link text.
3. Design editor accessibility
The Pixus design editor is a visual, canvas-based tool, which presents unique accessibility challenges. We have implemented the following features to improve accessibility:
- Keyboard shortcuts: Common actions (undo, redo, copy, paste, zoom, delete) are accessible via keyboard shortcuts.
- High contrast UI: The editor uses a dark and light theme with sufficient contrast ratios.
- Screen reader support: Tool buttons, panels, and menus include ARIA labels for screen reader users.
- Resizable panels: Interface panels can be resized to accommodate different visual needs.
- No audio required: The editor does not require audio to function. All feedback is visual.
We acknowledge that a canvas-based design tool has inherent limitations for users who rely entirely on assistive technology, and we continue to explore ways to improve accessibility in future updates.
4. Known limitations
We are aware of the following accessibility limitations:
- The drag-and-drop canvas is primarily mouse/touch-driven. While keyboard shortcuts exist for common operations, complex layout manipulation may be difficult without a pointing device.
- Templates and exported designs are visual outputs that may not be fully accessible to screen reader users. We recommend adding alt text to images when using them in accessible contexts.
- Some third-party content (Unsplash stock photos) may not include descriptive alt text in the editor canvas.
5. Standards and guidelines
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA for our marketing website. The design editor is a more complex application, and full WCAG compliance is an ongoing goal rather than a guaranteed state.
6. Feedback and contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of Pixus. If you encounter an accessibility barrier or have suggestions for improvement, please reach out via our contact page or email us directly at contact@uthakkan.in. We take accessibility feedback seriously and will respond to all reports.
7. Changes to this statement
We may update this accessibility statement from time to time as we make improvements. The current version always lives on this page with the effective date at the top.
